[PORTOLANI] - ROUX Joseph (1725-1793) - Nouveau recueil des plans des ports, et rades de la Mer Méditerranée. Genoa: Yves Gravier, 1816. A lot of two 19th-century portolans including a late edition of the successful work by Roux which went through numerous reprints between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century . Oblong 4to (165 x 222mm). Engraved title, an unnumbered folding plate, 179 numbered plates, one plate from another edition (1833), index table (title and some other leaves reinforced, restoration to the first folding leaf, slight dampstain at the lower right margin that causes some small loss, index and title more heavilly affected, almost imperceptible wormhole between plates 150 and 161). Binding of the first half of the 19th-century backed in leather, title and decorations in gold and blind (some chipping to marbled paper covers).
