DALVIMART, Octavien - The Costume of Turkey. London: William Miller, 1804 [tavole con filigrana del 1819]. A good copy of this work dedicated to Turkish costumes with hand-colored plates. According to the preface, Dalvimart traveled to Turkey around 1798 and made the drawings on the spot. The plates are watermarked 1819. Folio (365 x 260mm). Text in English and French, 60 engraved plates handcoloured at the time (light offsetting). Contemporary brown straight-grained morocco decorated in gilt and blind, gilt spine and edges (extremities lightly rubbed).
